National Disability Forum: July 2015
A Forum for All Interested Disability Stakeholders
SSA designed the National Disability Forum meetings to give all interested stakeholders an opportunity to share their unique insights on topics of particular interest to SSA early in the process and directly with policy makers. Further, it provides an opportunity for stakeholders to hear from one another. Open to anyone interested, the National Disability Forum is not intended to be a means for reaching agreement on an issue, and SSA’s participation is only for the purpose of gaining insight through listening. Please see our July 2015 topic below.

Assuming limited funding, what services are considered the most beneficial for youth? Should SSA directly provide these services (e.g., WIPAs and ENs), or should they be provided by traditional service-providers and agencies (e.g., VR, DOL, ED, HHS, state & local, etc.)?
What policies should SSA consider discontinuing? (e.g., eliminating countable earnings for children)
What policies (other than providing services) should SSA consider testing or implementing? (e.g., revising CDR/age-18 redetermination notices to include information on likelihood of cessation, data sharing with schools, etc.)
What information should SSA provide to youth receiving SSI about the age 18 redetermination process/transition?
